1. Information We Collect

When you use BetterBiz, we collect information you provide directly: your business name, website URL, email address, phone number, and domain preferences. We also collect publicly available business data (Google Business Profile information, website performance metrics, and publicly listed reviews) to generate your site audit and website preview.

We automatically collect standard usage data: IP address, browser type, device type, pages viewed, and referring URL. We use PostHog for analytics. No cookies are used for advertising or tracking across other websites.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to:

  • Generate your free site audit report
  • Build and host your custom website
  • Process payments through Stripe
  • Send you your monthly performance report
  • Respond to your revision requests and support emails
  • Improve our service based on aggregate usage patterns

We do not sell your personal information. We do not share your information with third-party advertisers. We do not use your data for purposes unrelated to providing our service.

3. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services to operate BetterBiz:

  • Stripe for payment processing. Stripe handles all credit card data. We never store your card information.
  • Vercel for hosting our website and your generated websites.
  • Supabase for database storage of business and audit data.
  • PostHog for privacy-focused analytics.
  • Resend for transactional emails (audit reports, performance reports).

Each of these services has its own privacy policy governing how they handle data.

4. Data Retention

We retain your audit data and website files for as long as your account is active. If you cancel your subscription, we retain your data for 30 days to allow for reactivation. After 30 days, your website files and personal data are deleted. Aggregate, anonymized analytics data may be retained indefinitely.

5. Your Rights

You have the right to:

  • Access all data we hold about you and your business
  • Request correction of inaccurate data
  • Request deletion of your data
  • Export your website code and content at any time
  • Opt out of non-essential communications

6. Security

We use industry-standard security measures to protect your data, including encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS), secure database access controls, and regular security audits. Payment data is handled entirely by Stripe and never touches our servers.

7. Children

BetterBiz is designed for business owners. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under the age of 18. If you believe we have collected data from a minor, please contact us immediately.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. We will notify active subscribers of material changes via email. The “last updated” date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision.
